Bullying: Warning Signs, Response, and Special Populations LIMITED
Thursday June 26, 2025 12:45pm - 1:35pm CDT
Addressing bullying in the community is crucial due to its significant impact on individuals and overall well-being. Bullying can manifest in various forms, including physical, verbal, social, and cyberbullying. Current statistics reveal high prevalence rates and highlight its detrimental effects on mental health and academic performance. Recognizing warning signs of bullying is essential; these include unexplainable injuries, lost or destroyed belongings, frequent physical complaints, changes in eating or sleeping patterns, declining grades, sudden loss of friends, feelings of helplessness, and self-destructive behaviors. Identifying signs that a child may be bullying others is also important and includes physical or verbal aggression, having friends who bully, increased aggression, frequent detention, unexplained possessions, blaming others, and avoiding responsibility. This training can be tailored to specific populations such as schools, workplaces, or different age groups.
